1943 Stinson Vultee Reliant V-77 // N79496

This Gullwing Stinson V-77 was built in 1943 for the British Royal Navy and saw service in Europe during WW2 until 1946. At that time, it was sold to a United Airlines Captain in the US. It was completely overhauled in 1994 by The ‘Possum Works in Carrollton, GA. It is in excellent condition both in and out. The aircraft is part of a large collection that is being sold. It has been located in a dry climate in northern Arizona and always hangared. The plane is out of annual and has not been flown in some time, but it has been started on a regular basis and cared for by the same mechanic for many years. The Reliant is up for auction with a low reserve.

For many of us, the airshow season is a time to embrace the camaraderie, spectacle, and pure joy that flying brings.

Built with great attention to detail, it includes a handy storage compartment on the top of the wing center section. The Pietenpol’s classic design, ease of maintenance, and proven reliability make it a favorite among vintage aviation enthusiasts.

The Dichotomy of Auctions

Aircraft auctions can seem like a place where extremes collide: some people believe they offer the best way to snag a deal, while others argue that auctions inflate prices, thanks to competitive bidding. The reality lies somewhere in between. Auctions are neither simply a means to get a steal nor a mechanism for irrational overpayment. Instead, they are one of the most efficient ways to determine the fair market value of an aircraft, whether you’re looking to sell a G1000 Cessna 172, a helicopter, or a classic warbird.
