Sun N Fun Raises Lots of Questions

Hello from SNF. This week has been exhilarating at Sun ‘n Fun. This week we have spent countless hours speaking with attendees about buying and selling aircraft. Deep dive discussions about insurance challenges as we age, logbook reviews, data completeness, pricing and the future of the aircraft market are just a few of the hot topics we have discussed this week. Every conversation has led to more questions and learning how we can make buying and selling aircraft more efficient and transparent.

The primary goal has always been to make your journey in aviation as seamless as possible, especially when it comes to purchasing an aircraft. However, buying a plane isn’t as straightforward as it may seem, and many potential challenges can arise during the process.

We want to hear from you. What are your biggest struggles in buying, owning and selling aircraft. Any aircraft, any mission, they all have common challenges. Tell us how we can make the process easier for you.

  • Logbook review: sometimes messy, sometimes missing. How to fill in the gaps and qualify the aircraft’s condition and value.
  • Insurance Concerns: Finding the right insurance agent that can guide you to get and retain the most affordable policy for your type and age
  • Financing the Purchase: Finding a bank that will finance your aircraft type and age for a reasonable market rate
  • Hangar Space Availability: Finding a hangar for a reasonable price close to home
  • Mission-Fitting Aircraft: Find the right aircraft for your mission and budget.
  • Valuation Challenges: How do you determine what to bid for an aircraft?
  • Prepping for sale: What maintenance and improvements make the most sense in preparation to sell.

Your experiences and concerns are crucial to helping us understand what we need to work on for you. We’re listening, guide us to provide better solutions to these or other challenges.

So, I turn to you, my fellow aviators: What is your biggest struggle when buying, owning and selling a plane? Do the issues listed resonate with you, or is there something else that you find more challenging?

Please share your thoughts, experiences, and any questions you have in the comments below or email us here. Your feedback is valuable as we continue to explore and address the complexities of buying an aircraft.

Looking forward to hearing from you and continuing our journey in the world of aviation together. Let’s make your aviation dreams a reality with less turbulence along the way!

I am listening – always focused on a more efficient and transparent experience.
