How AirSpace Works

AirSpace auctions is a better way to buy and sell aircraft of all types. Auctions provide simple and transparent transactions that create the best buyer and seller experience.

Auction Process

The auction process starts with sellers submitting their aircraft. From there our Cockpit Concierge Agents work with sellers to define a valuation based on current market conditions, an attainable reserve and develop comprehensive digital documentation including logbooks, airworthiness, historical profile, beautiful images and videos. We then create the listing with complete data in our virtual data room. The marketing period is from 4-6 weeks where we promote every auction across all possible outlets so all qualified buyers know that their desired aircraft is coming up for sale. Auctions typically run for 7-10 days. After the winning bid is placed; the secure escrow closing process begins and completes quickly. The aircraft is picked up in a week or less.

How our Online Auctions Work

Every auction goes live with an informational listing in our Virtual Data Room, photo gallery, and meticulously documented logbooks that help ensure a successful auction.

  • Every auction has a blog with a comment thread where buyers and sellers can share their knowledge about the aircraft. Helping each other build an understanding of the aircraft they are bidding on increases bidder confidence.
  • Bidders can contact AirSpace Auctions; we coordinate direct contact with the seller to answer any questions and visual inspection of the aircraft if desired.

How Bidding Works

You must create a user profile and submit a refundable deposit to place bids on AirSpace Auctions.

  • All bidders are qualified by a credit card hold deposit or wire prior to accessing bidding. Deposits are released to bidders who did not win the aircraft within a few days after the auction close.
  • Sniper protection automatically extends the auction clock by 2 minutes when a bid is placed within the last minute of the auction.
  • We encourage all bidders to read all terms and conditions, the listing and review the entirety of the comment section before placing a bid. It is important that bidders do their due diligence to understand all the details of the aircraft and insights offered by members of the community.

The Post-Auction Process

A successful auction is when the listing ends over reserve or or the auction has no reserve. The winner and seller are automatically connected through a third-party escrow company for a secure transaction.

The buyer and seller then work together in step with the third party escrow company to complete the transaction and arrange for aircraft pickup. In general, buyers are responsible for pickup/ferrying, applicable taxes, registration fees, and other costs associated with vehicle ownership. Our Cockpit Concierge agents are happy to assist in answering any questions.

If the auction reserve is not met when the listing ends, AirSpace will work with the active bidders in hopes that we can assist in completing the sale.
